Overview

Novant Health is seeking a highly skilled Pharmacy Technician III to join our outpatient oncology pharmacy team. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in delivering optimal medication management across all dimensions of care.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver high-quality patient care by performing a variety of pharmacy skills, including medication distribution, sterile compounding, and controlled substance accountability.
  • Collaborate with pharmacists and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with patients, families, and healthcare teams to provide exceptional patient experience.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest pharmacy practices, regulations, and technologies to ensure compliance and excellence in patient care.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED, required.
  • 2 Year / Associate Degree, preferred.
  • Current registry with applicable State Board(s) of Pharmacy, required.
  • PTCB or NHA Certification within 60 days of hire, required.
  • Additional Skills (required): State registration and/or evidence of renewal is required for both Pharmacists and Technicians fifteen days prior to expiration and Technicians are required to be either certified through Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or National Healthcareer Association (NHA).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Considerable knowledge of medication names (both trade and generic) and their doses, routes of administration, and adverse effects.
  • The ability to demonstrate patient interview skills and strong written and verbal communication skills with other healthcare professionals.
  • Experience with inventory management.
