Role Summary:

The Patient Access Representative will be responsible for managing essential front-office operations, ensuring a smooth and efficient patient check-in and check-out experience. This position entails confirming insurance details, accurately entering patient data, and handling payments at the time of service.

Key Duties:

  • Welcome patients warmly and professionally upon their arrival.
  • Utilize customer service expertise to fulfill departmental standards.
  • Examine patient accounts, collect co-pays, deductibles, and co-insurance amounts.
  • Work collaboratively with Business Office personnel to resolve outstanding balances and liaise with the medical team regarding insurance matters.
  • Confirm insurance coverage and compute payments based on patient benefits.
  • Post payments accurately and reconcile the cash drawer at the end of each shift.
  • Support additional responsibilities as needed.

Required Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent is mandatory.
  • A minimum of one year of experience in a medical office, registration, or collections is preferred.
  • Strong reading comprehension and the ability to follow both written and verbal instructions.
  • Proficient in basic arithmetic, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
  • Capable of problem-solving and managing various situations with common sense and sound judgment.
  • Essential qualities include professionalism, reliability, adaptability, energy, and strong organizational skills.

Additional Information:

This position offers a consistent Monday to Friday schedule during daytime hours. The ideal candidate will thrive in a dynamic healthcare setting, delivering outstanding service to both patients and the medical staff.
