Personal Lines Account Manager

Job Summary:

The Personal Lines Account Manager is a key role that requires developing and maintaining professional relationships with clients and insurance carriers. This position involves providing outstanding customer service and sales support while growing and maintaining a book of business. The successful candidate will be responsible for efficient and prompt handling of quoting, applications, claims, change requests, and client inquiries.

Nature and Scope:

This position works under the direction of the Manager while exercising integrity, accountability, and independent judgment. The role interacts with clients, company departments, and carriers to implement new clients and support existing clients to benefit from increased use of the company's programs and services.

Duties and Responsibilities:

New Client Implementation

  • Set up new client accounts in Epic with detailed information.
  • Prepare and maintain necessary documentation, including quotes, quote sheets, dec pages, applications, waiver forms, and other required forms.
  • Follow up on open activities and close them when tasks are completed.
  • Ensure accuracy in status codes, premiums, commissions, and other data reflected in agency reports.

New/Existing Client Sales

  • Develop relationships with current clients to actively cross-sell and refer other lines of business within the firm.
  • Increase sales through account rounding, referrals from clients, and outside business.
  • Evaluate prospects' current insurance and offer alternatives based on coverage and price.
  • Present proposals and finalize sales of policies.
  • Utilize Epic Quotes, carrier website rating systems, and other rating tools to provide prompt and accurately priced quotes.
  • Obtain signatures on necessary applications, forms, documents, and other required materials.
  • Provide LPR to incumbent carriers as a courtesy to cancel existing policies for proof of coverage replacement.

Client Servicing

  • Provide accurate and courteous service to clients.
  • Collaborate and communicate with clients daily to meet and understand their needs.
  • Address and resolve client issues and complaints promptly.
  • Process applications, payments, corrections, endorsements, cancellations, and proofs of insurance as requested.
  • Clearly communicate and explain coverages to clients.
  • Monitor renewal expiration lists to perform annual reviews and risk exposure analyses.
  • Focus on retention with a proactive approach versus reactive and remarket policies when appropriate.
  • Assist clients through the claim process.
  • Provide proofs of insurance to title companies, banks, mortgage brokers, and finance companies as requested to satisfy loan approval and compliance.

Team Support

  • Support the company vision and goals.
  • Contribute to the goals and objectives of the department.
  • Communicate regularly with management to discuss any issues requiring escalation.
  • Work well with others, maintain a positive attitude, and be willing to provide assistance and support to peers.
  • Maintain a positive and professional relationship with employees of all departments.
  • Refer clients for cross-selling to other departments.

Accounting Support

  • Follow processes in place for agency sweep payments.
  • Communicate any issues or requests first that are outside normal procedures.
  • Provide receipts and checks to be deposited in the agency account promptly.
  • Report any mistakes and issues immediately for resolution.

Service and Industry Knowledge

  • Strong knowledge of carrier products, coverages, and underwriting guidelines.
  • Understanding of carrier processes to properly service accounts.
  • Ability to quote and rate properly.

Administrative & Operations

  • Follow workflows, processes, and procedures with consistency and to reduce E&O exposure.
  • Maintain client files accurately and consistently, ensuring proper documentation, including adding activities with notes of conversations and following workflows according to agency procedures.
  • Monitor daily activities assigned to accounts in Epic.
  • Utilize Glovebox for clients for better efficiencies.
  • Work efficiently by following appropriate workflows.
  • Attend all scheduled meetings for the department and company.
  • Participate in any special projects at management request.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent; college degree desired with a minimum of 2+ years Personal Lines experience required.
  • Must hold an active Pennsylvania Property & Casualty License.
  • CISR designation or equivalent a plus.
  • Computer and technical skills are required, including excellent typing, working in a paperless environment, and proficiency in Microsoft Office products, Applied Epic, CRM system(s), and carrier websites.
  • Requires excellent communication skills both written and oral, including telephone communication.
  • Should have excellent time management and organizational skills and be able to handle multiple tasks/projects, set priorities, problem solve, and ability to remain calm under pressure while self-motivated and able to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail while maintaining security of confidential information.

Hours: Monday-Thursday, 8:30am-5:00pm and Friday, 8:30am-4:30pm
