Job Description:

As a Pharmacy Technician at Walgreens, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and services. Our pharmacy technicians are the face of our business, interacting with customers and developing strong relationships with our patients.

Our Pharmacy Technician Training Program is recognized by ASHP and the Department of Labor, and provides a comprehensive and structured approach to learning the skills and knowledge required to become a certified pharmacy technician. Through this program, you will gain the skills and confidence to provide exceptional patient care and services.

As a Pharmacy Technician at Walgreens, you will be responsible for assisting pharmacists in the practice of pharmacy, including the performance of other Pharmacy Department duties in accordance with Company policies and procedures. You will also be responsible for using pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information and process prescriptions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist pharmacists in the practice of pharmacy, including the performance of other Pharmacy Department duties in accordance with Company policies and procedures.
  • Use pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information and process prescriptions.
  • Model and deliver a distinctive and delightful customer experience.
  • Engage customers and patients by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services.
  • Resolve customer issues and answer questions to ensure a positive customer experience.
  • Develop strong relationships with most valuable customers.
  • Perform duties as assigned by Pharmacy Manager, Staff Pharmacist and Store Manager.

Requirements:

  • Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English.
  • Prefer six months of experience in a retail environment.
  • Prefer to have prior work experience with Walgreens.
  • Prefer good math skills so they can fill prescriptions accurately, including counting, measuring and weighing medications.
  • Prefer good computer skills.
  • Prefer the knowledge of store inventory control.
  • Prefer PTCB certification.
