Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Communication Technician to join our team at Denver Transit Operators. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our commuter rail system by inspecting, testing, and repairing our communications infrastructure.

This is a safety-sensitive position that requires a strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment. If you are a motivated and detail-oriented individual with a passion for technology and problem-solving, we encourage you to apply.

Key Responsibilities
  • Inspect and test communications systems used in train control equipment
  • Align, adjust, and calibrate instruments and equipment as a result of testing
  • Troubleshoot faulty equipment, electronic components, and circuits to locate defects and diagnose causes of malfunction
  • Replace and repair defective wiring and components, and/or adjust mechanical parts
  • Maintain records of inspections, repairs, calibrations, and tests in our management system
  • Maintain, inspect, test, and repair the Operations Control Center (OCC) system and wayside equipment along all corridors
  • Coordinate with third-party vendors to maintain our communication systems
  • Perform the work of other classifications of employees for which the employee is qualified, as determined by the Company in its sole discretion
Requirements
  • Associate's degree in electronic/computer technology or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 3-year experience working electronic diagnosis and repair preferred
  • Experience in railroad train control inspection, maintenance, and repair preferred
  • Ability to prioritize and accomplish multiple tasks with minimal supervision
  • Ability to work nights, holidays, and weekends, including working overtime as needed
  • Must possess a valid state driver's license
  • Must pass a pre-employment physical examination and drug test
