Medical Assistant/X-ray Tech

About the Role:
The Medical Assistant/X-ray Tech is a vital member of our healthcare team, providing basic clinical care to patients in alignment with their medical education. This position requires the ability to perform x-ray testing, including body mechanics and patient movement, using knowledge of anatomy and physiology.
Key Responsibilities:
- Promptly greet patients when entering waiting areas, exam rooms, and laboratory or x-ray rooms.
- Consistently communicate with patients on wait times and provide direction to the next step in the treatment process.
- Provide solutions to patient problems and recognize and seek help in emergent/hazardous situations.
- Execute follow-up calls with a sense of urgency.
- Assist front desk personnel with patient check-in/out procedures when necessary.
- Obtain and accurately document patient vital signs and weight, take brief history, past medical, family, and social history, current medications, allergies, and other pertinent historical information as appropriate.
- Assist with patient transfers.
- Assist with procedures directly supervised by the provider.
- Prepare patients for radiologic procedures and follow established clinical and regulatory procedures in regards to patient safety and care, including proper radiation protection and shielding techniques.
- Follow documentation procedures and complete required documentation related to patient visits.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- BLS Certification.
- Minimum 1 year of experience as a Medical Assistant is preferred.
- Medical Assistant Certificate and ARRT certification preferred.
