We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Occupational Therapist to join our team at Soliant. As an essential member of our special education department, you will play a pivotal role in assessing, planning, and implementing occupational therapy interventions for students with disabilities or developmental delays.
Key Responsibilities- Assessment and Evaluation: Conduct comprehensive assessments and evaluations to determine students' functional capabilities, strengths, and areas of need related to sensory processing, fine motor skills, visual motor skills, self-care, and activities of daily living.
- Treatment Planning: Develop individualized treatment plans and goals based on assessment findings, in collaboration with educators, parents, and caregivers.
- Direct Services: Provide direct occupational therapy services to students, either individually or in small groups, focusing on skill development, adaptive equipment usage, and environmental modifications.
- Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate closely with teachers, speech-language pathologists, physical therapists, and other professionals to integrate occupational therapy goals into students' Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and classroom activities.
- Progress Monitoring: Monitor and document student progress through regular assessment and data collection, adjusting interventions as necessary to achieve optimal outcomes.
- Professional Development: Stay informed of current research, trends, and best practices in occupational therapy through professional development and continuing education activities.
- Masters degree (or equivalent) in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
- Current Minnesota state licensure or eligibility for licensure as an Occupational Therapist.
- Previous experience in pediatric or school-based occupational therapy preferred.
- Knowledge of sensory processing disorders, fine motor delays, and developmental disabilities.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, students, families, and caregivers.
- Organizational skills and ability to manage caseload effectively, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
