About the Cleaner Role

As a key member of our team, the Cleaner will be responsible for maintaining the overall cleanliness and sanitation of our facility, ensuring an exceptional experience for our members and guests.

Responsibilities:
  • Thoroughly clean and sanitize all common areas, including restrooms, locker rooms, fitness equipment, and Black Card Spa facilities.
  • Vacuum floor surfaces and operate the floor scrubber machine according to a scheduled routine.
  • Properly dispose of trash and maintain the cleanliness of trash cans and cleaning centers.
  • Replenish supplies and paper products as needed, communicating inventory needs to the Club Manager.
  • Clean and dust high-level areas, such as ceiling fans, TVs, and rafters.
  • Report any broken or missing amenities or equipment to the Club Manager.
  • Operate washing machines and dryers.
  • Maintain cleaning equipment, including cleaning the mop bucket and emptying vacuum bags.
Daily Responsibilities:
  • Greet members and guests as they enter and exit the club, assisting with any questions or concerns.
  • Answer phones in a friendly manner and assist callers with their inquiries.
  • Execute retail transactions with accuracy and contribute to sales goals.
  • Resolve member concerns and escalate to a Manager as needed.
  • Perform a comprehensive walk of all club areas, addressing cleanliness concerns and safety issues.
Compensation and Benefits

The hourly pay range for this position is $16.50 to $17.50. Planet Fitness offers a comprehensive benefit package, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, short-term and long-term disability, term life insurance, a 401(k) retirement savings plan, flexible spending accounts, vacation, sick, and vacation pay, and a free Black Card Membership.

Qualifications
  • Cleaning and sanitizing experience is preferred.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Willing to become CPR/AED certified (training provided by Planet Fitness).
  • Basic computer proficiency.
Physical Demands
  • Continual standing and moving throughout the club to accomplish tasks during shift.
  • Continual communicating in person or on the phone to exchange information during shift.
  • Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds.
  • Will encounter toxic chemicals during shift.
  • Frequent cleaning and sanitizing of equipment and facilities.
  • Moving self in different positions, including bending and twisting, to accomplish tasks.
