Position Overview: The Fitness Program Coordinator plays a crucial role in designing and executing tailored fitness initiatives for diverse clientele.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform comprehensive medical history evaluations, needs assessments, and fitness evaluations.
  • Develop personalized exercise regimens based on individual client needs and track their progress.
  • Guide clients on the correct use of exercise equipment and techniques.
  • Conduct annual fitness assessments or as requested by clients; review and adjust client programs quarterly, offering nutritional and weight management advice.
  • Support sales initiatives as needed.
  • Assist front desk staff during peak times.
  • Facilitate tours for prospective clients.
  • Provide mentorship and supervision to junior staff members.

Physical and Sensory Requirements: The role requires physical stamina to engage in activities typical of leading fitness programs. Effective communication skills are essential, including listening and responding to inquiries in person, via email, or over the phone. Proficiency in using a computer keyboard is necessary, along with the ability to stand for extended periods. A valid driver's license is required.

Educational Background: A Bachelor's degree in exercise physiology, health and physical education, or a related field is mandatory. A Master's degree in exercise science, kinesiology, physical education, or healthcare administration is preferred. Certifications such as American College of Sports Medicine Certified Exercise Physiologist or National Strength & Conditioning Association Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) are advantageous. BLS for Healthcare Providers (CPR and AED) certification is required.

Training and Experience: Candidates should demonstrate high energy levels and motivation, with a strong emphasis on customer service. Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, and organizational skills are essential.
