Job Overview:

The Patient Services Coordinator is responsible for scheduling appointments, welcoming and registering patients, and managing reception duties. This role includes directing phone inquiries to the appropriate departments and processing payments as needed.

The position is crucial for maintaining an efficient communication flow, assisting patients with their appointment needs, and ensuring high-quality customer service and precise patient registration. Daily clerical support is also provided to the clinic.

Qualifications:
Education/Licensure/Certification:
A high school diploma or GED is required, with additional coursework and training being highly beneficial.

Knowledge:
Familiarity with basic medical terminology, insurance billing practices, and computer systems is preferred. A minimum of three years' experience in automated scheduling within a physician's office is preferred, with experience in a multi-provider medical setting being highly desirable.

Skills:
Exceptional oral communication skills and accuracy in spelling are essential. A strong customer service orientation and proven experience in team collaboration and personnel development are required. Effective interpersonal and organizational skills are necessary, along with basic office equipment proficiency. The ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions is critical. The incumbent must consistently maintain a positive attitude.

Comfort with verifying and processing insurance eligibility and obtaining authorization requests is expected, including confirming personal credentials with external partners for identity verification related to insurance coordination.
