Soliant is seeking a highly qualified Teacher of the Deaf to join our team in a self-contained position. As a Deaf Education Specialist, you will be responsible for providing educational support to students who are deaf or hard of hearing.

Responsibilities
  • Student Assessment and Support: Assess and respond to students' educational concerns and behavioral concerns.
  • Individualized Education Plans: Develop and implement individualized education plans, case management, and creating lesson plans.
  • One-on-One Support: Work one-on-one with students to provide personalized support and instruction.
  • Staff and Parent Education: Educate students, parents, and staff on the needs of the student.
Qualifications
  • Special Education License: Valid Special Education License required.
  • Master's Degree: Master's Degree minimum required.
  • NYS License in Deaf Education: NYS License in Deaf Education required.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Preferred fluency in ASL (not required), experience working in education or in a clinical setting, implementation of IEPs, excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
