POSITION OVERVIEW AND REQUIREMENTS:

The Forensic Science Program, part of the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology within the Eberly College of Science at The Pennsylvania State University, invites applications for a Forensic Science Teaching Faculty position. This program provides both undergraduate and graduate (MPS) degrees, encompasses a wide array of resident instruction and distance learning opportunities, and engages in externally funded research. We are seeking a proactive and innovative individual to teach and develop courses for both undergraduate and graduate students. The role necessitates exceptional oral and written communication abilities and a commitment to fostering collaborations and networks of support within the University, with programs at other institutions, and with law enforcement and forensic laboratory professionals.

Qualifications and Experience

Preference will be given to candidates holding a Ph.D., although a minimum of a M.S. in Forensic Science, Criminalistics, or a related physical/natural science is required, along with a proven ability to teach. The ideal candidate should possess experience in a criminalistics or forensic science laboratory (either private or governmental) and have a solid foundation in the comprehensive approach to forensic science.
