Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Neurointerventional Radiologic Imaging Specialist to join our team at UVA Health. As a key member of our imaging department, you will be responsible for performing routine to complex diagnostic and therapeutic technical procedures under the direction of a physician.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform diagnostic and therapeutic imaging procedures, including extra-cranial and intra-cranial angiography, vertebroplasty, and other spinal injections.
  • Provide technical support for musculoskeletal procedures, including discograms, aspirations, and therapeutic injections.
  • Assist in the technical support of neurointerventional procedures, including tumor embolization, epistaxis, and spinal lesion embolization.
  • Operate imaging equipment using established guidelines and imaging protocols.
  • Ensure proper safety standards are met and maintain a safe working environment.
  • Instruct students and residents, and perform preceptor duties as needed.
  • Perform quality assurance checks on equipment and assist in maintaining supply inventory.
  • Demonstrate working knowledge of Medical Center information systems and coding procedures.
  • Stay up-to-date with new techniques and technology by attending lectures, seminars, and educational readings.

Requirements:

  • Graduate of an accredited program in Radiography.
  • Associate's Degree in Radiography preferred.
  • 1 year relevant experience.
  • Registered Radiologic Technologist through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT R.T.) required.
  • ARRT (VI) certification preferred. American Heart Association (AHA) Health Care Provider BLS certification required.

Physical Demands:

The job requires standing and sitting for prolonged periods, frequently bending/stooping and reaching (overhead, extensive, and repetitive). Proficient communicative, auditory and visual skills; Attention to detail and ability to write legibly; Ability to lift/push/pull lbs. May be exposed to fumes, cold, heat, radiation, blood/body fluids and infectious disease.
