Diagnostic Radiologic Technologist Job Description

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Diagnostic Radiologic Technologist to join our team at Virginia Jobs. As a Diagnostic Radiologic Technologist, you will be responsible for performing diagnostic and therapeutic procedures in diagnostic radiology to produce high-quality images for interpretation by Radiologists.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate and maintain diagnostic imaging equipment to produce high-quality images.
  • Follow established imaging protocols and ensure image quality standards are met.
  • Ensure a safe environment for patients, visitors, and staff by following established safety standards.
  • Instruct students and residents, and perform preceptor duties as necessary.
  • Establish ownership of clinical area by maintaining a clean and organized environment.

Requirements:

  • Graduate of an accredited JRC program in Radiography required.
  • Associate's Degree in Radiography preferred.
  • Registered Radiologic Technologist through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT R.T.) required.
  • American Heart Association (AHA) Health Care Provider BLS certification required.

Physical Demands:

The job requires standing and sitting for prolonged periods, frequent bending/stooping, and reaching. Proficient communicative, auditory, and visual skills are required, as well as attention to detail and ability to write legibly. Ability to lift/push/pull lbs. May be exposed to fumes, cold, heat, radiation, blood/body fluids, and infectious disease.
