Position Summary
Under the guidance of seasoned Imaging Services Engineers, the Imaging Services Technician I plays a crucial role in the installation, maintenance, and repair of imaging technologies within a designated area. While primarily working under supervision, this position may involve independent tasks as well. Responsibilities include performing maintenance, installations, repairs, adjustments, calibrations, and safety assessments of imaging equipment, all while adhering to corporate policies and maintaining professionalism in all interactions.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaboration
- Assist experienced Imaging Services Engineers in the setup and upkeep of imaging devices.
- Engage closely with management and technical personnel.
- Seek guidance for complex issues from higher-level authorities.
- Service Delivery
- Provide service for imaging equipment across various modalities, including ultrasounds, mobile radiographic units, and more. Collaborate with other engineers on maintenance and safety testing.
- Handle basic administrative duties related to the role.
- Quality Assurance
- Make informed decisions based on established protocols and operational guidelines.
- Demonstrate initiative and adhere to safety practices.
- Complete assigned tasks promptly and efficiently.
- Effectively prioritize workload with support from supervisors.
- Meet performance metrics related to maintenance and service delivery.
- Documentation and Compliance
- Maintain accurate documentation as required by management.
- Exhibit initiative in planning and resource management.
- Travel Requirements
- This position may require up to 80% travel.
Qualifications
- Associate's degree in electronic technology, engineering, or a related field is required.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in medical equipment maintenance in a clinical environment is necessary; experience with imaging modalities is preferred.
- Certifications such as AAMI CBET / CRES or ACCE CCE are advantageous.
- Familiarity with various equipment and tools used in the field is essential.
- Basic understanding of radiation physics and safety regulations is required.
Skills and Competencies
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Ability to comprehend and convey technical information relevant to healthcare technology.
- Proficiency in computer applications, including Microsoft Office.
- Demonstrated maturity, integrity, and commitment to professional development.
