Position Overview

The Bilingual Education Specialist is a highly skilled, state-certified professional dedicated to delivering tailored educational content in a virtual setting. This role involves providing instruction, support, and mentorship, while managing the educational journey of students and focusing on their unique requirements. The Specialist tracks student progress through the learning management system and collaborates closely with students and their families to enhance each learner's experience toward defined objectives.

Mission: Our mission is to deliver an exceptional, individualized educational experience that engages students through strong partnerships with families and the community, supported by a rigorous curriculum and a data-driven instructional model. Success is measured through reliable assessment data, satisfaction from parents and students, and ongoing growth within the academic community.

This is a full-time role requiring the ability to work independently, typically exceeding 40 hours per week. A professional home office environment is essential to minimize distractions during work hours.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Take responsibility for students' academic achievements and attendance, maintaining high expectations and demonstrating a genuine interest in their success.
  • Prepare students for significant standardized assessments.
  • Conduct live synchronous teaching sessions for a minimum of 15 hours weekly.
  • Provide asynchronous support, including email communication, course planning, and utilizing data to identify student needs.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to address instructional resources, interventions, and data relevant to student requirements.
  • Adapt course content under the guidance of the administrative team, following established policies and utilizing appropriate teaching tools.
  • Maintain accurate records of student performance and uphold academic integrity.
Building Relationships:
  • Establish and nurture positive relationships with families, maintaining regular communication with students and their learning coaches.
  • Assist parents and learning coaches with curricular and instructional inquiries in a virtual setting.
  • Support students and families with basic technology questions as needed.
  • Recognize the diverse backgrounds of students and their families to provide tailored support.
  • Work collaboratively with fellow educators to ensure all students progress successfully through the program.
  • Respond promptly to inquiries from students, parents, and colleagues.
Additional Responsibilities:
  • Organize social and educational events for students and families, including virtual clubs and extracurricular activities.
  • Travel to designated locations for state assessments as required.
  • Adhere to all school policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in education or a related field.
  • Minimum of six months of student teaching experience.
  • Meet the criteria for Highly Qualified Teacher (HQT) in the relevant subject area.
Required Certifications:
Ohio ELL Teaching Certificate

  • Strong pedagogical knowledge and the ability to apply critical thinking.
  • Familiarity with state content standards.
  • Adaptability to change to ensure optimal student outcomes.
  • Excellent organizational and independent problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines effectively.
  • Access to reliable high-speed internet and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Willingness to learn new technologies and teaching platforms quickly.
  • Maintain certification and professional development requirements.
  • Pass a background check as required.
Desired Experience:
  • Experience with the target age group.
  • Experience in supporting technology use for both adults and children.
  • Experience in virtual teaching environments.
  • Familiarity with online teaching platforms.
Work Environment:
This is a remote position.
