Old Dominion University Research Foundation is seeking a highly skilled Postdoctoral Research Associate to join our team in the field of Oceanography. This is a unique opportunity to participate in a National Science Foundation-funded project focused on understanding the controls on Eelgrass wasting disease.
Job Responsibilities- Develop and implement numerical models to simulate disease processes and transmission in eelgrass ecosystems.
- Analyze simulation results to advance our understanding of Eelgrass wasting disease.
- Prepare and submit manuscripts on eelgrass and model results for publication in peer-reviewed scientific journals.
- Present research findings at national and international scientific meetings.
- Attend project-related meetings and workshops to collaborate with team members.
- Ph.D. in Oceanography or a related field.
- Strong programming skills in MATLAB, R, or FORTRAN.
- Excellent scientific writing and communication skills.
- Familiarity with marine ecosystem dynamics, marine disease processes, and numerical modeling is desirable.
