Position Summary

Reporting directly to the President, the Financial Controller will oversee all financial and accounting functions within the organization. A key objective of this role is to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the accounting department while ensuring that all financial reports are completed promptly and in compliance with GAAP standards. The ideal candidate will have experience in high-growth companies and a proven track record in developing reporting frameworks and extracting data for executive decision-making. Familiarity with due diligence, financial modeling, and integration of acquisitions is highly desirable.

Financial Reporting Responsibilities

  • Directing the monthly closing process, including a thorough analysis of operational results to guarantee the accuracy and completeness of accounting records in line with GAAP.
  • Creating monthly financial reporting packages to aid internal decision-making and fulfill all necessary third-party reporting obligations.
  • Supervising the preparation of Financial Statements - Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow. Crafting detailed forecasts for revenue, balance sheet, and cash flow.
  • Conducting financial analyses as required, focusing on areas such as customer profitability, contract negotiations, pricing strategies, and capital expenditures.

Management Duties

  • Overseeing the financial operations of the organization, which includes accounts payable, revenue cycle management, banking, and payroll functions.
  • Establishing, documenting, and maintaining robust internal controls.
  • Developing and maintaining a comprehensive system of accounting policies and procedures.

Compliance Obligations

  • Managing the annual audit of financial statements and liaising with the audit team.
  • Preparing monthly reports for debt compliance.
  • Ensuring adherence to local, state, and federal reporting requirements and tax obligations.

Team Leadership

  • Recruiting, training, and developing a top-tier accounting and finance team.
  • Promoting a culture of high performance, especially during critical financial periods.

Essential Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting with at least 7 years of relevant experience; CPA is preferred.
  • Experience in the manufacturing sector, including familiarity with audit processes.
  • Proficiency in accounting software systems; experience with Shopworx is advantageous.
  • Strong leadership and communication capabilities.
  • A proactive, hands-on approach to work.
  • In-depth knowledge of GAAP and corporate financial planning and analysis.
  • Ability to inspire teams to deliver quality outcomes within tight deadlines.
  • A commitment to continuous improvement and the ability to implement best practices.
