Position Overview:
A reputable organization is in search of a qualified individual to temporarily fill a logistics role due to medical leave. This position is crucial for ensuring that distribution centers are adequately supplied with products. The Logistics Coordinator will oversee all incoming and outgoing orders, maintaining effective communication with clients to ensure accurate Purchase Orders and corresponding Bills of Lading are processed.

Work Schedule:
Monday to Friday, 7:30 AM to 3:00 PM. Compensation is competitive and based on experience, with a target range of $20 to $23 per hour.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage freight logistics for all incoming and outgoing orders.
  • Engage with customers regarding their orders, including Purchase Orders and delivery timelines.
  • Maintain and update all internal and external reports related to deliveries (both inbound and outbound).
  • Coordinate and report on all third-party freight services, considering cost and service requirements.
  • Generate Freight Purchase Orders for all third-party shipments.
  • Prepare Bills of Lading for all outgoing shipments.
  • Collaborate with the Warehouse team on current and incoming orders to ensure timely preparation of outgoing shipments.
  • Ensure the warehouse team is aware of the internal truck schedule for efficient loading and unloading.
  • Track, investigate, and resolve any discrepancies in shipments.
  • Organize miscellaneous bulk freight shipments, such as casing pickups and chassis/container pickups.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated compassion and patience.
  • Effective problem-solving and critical thinking abilities.
  • Proficient in computer applications.
Education and Experience:
  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • A Bachelor’s degree is preferred but not mandatory.
  • 2 to 4 years of relevant experience is desired.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to sit for extended periods while working at a desk and using a computer.
  • Standard office environment, utilizing phone, copier, and other office equipment.
