Position Overview:
  • The Biology Research & AI Development (BRAID) department is looking for a bioinformatics associate to play a pivotal role in an internal initiative.
  • This position will contribute to enhancing our comprehension of extensive molecular datasets and enable new downstream functionalities that are currently unattainable.
  • Your responsibilities will include organizing internal datasets, sourcing external data, implementing and potentially refining bioinformatics workflows, and leading specific downstream analyses once the data has been processed.
  • Develop systems to manage substantial amounts of internal data using established workflows.
  • Identify valuable external datasets and collaborate with the data ingestion team to efficiently integrate public datasets.
  • Engage with BRAID and Data Management team members to ensure proper and efficient data handling.
  • Oversee specific downstream analysis tasks and generate visual representations for the final project presentation.
  • Hands-on experience with NGS bioinformatics workflows and familiarity with programming in Python and data organization libraries (e.g., pandas) is essential.
  • Experience with CellRanger and 10X scRNA-seq data processing is required.
  • Familiarity with cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud) for large-scale data processing is advantageous.
  • A Master’s or PhD degree with experience in CellRanger, 10X scRNA-seq data, whole genome sequencing, Python programming, and UNIX/Linux is preferred.
Contract Details:
  • This is a 4-month contract position.
  • Remote work is available, adhering to PST hours.
  • Compensation ranges from $50 to $65 per hour, based on experience.
