Job Title: Data Analyst Bioinformatics

At Twist Bioscience, we are seeking a highly skilled Data Analyst to join our Scientific Computing Team. As a Data Analyst, you will play a critical role in conducting large-scale analyses to develop, improve, and troubleshoot our latest products and internal processes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct exploratory data analysis in Python and Databricks to answer questions from internal stakeholders.
  • Write SQL queries to retrieve data for downstream analysis.
  • Build robust pipelines to extract, transform, and load data.
  • Create dashboards and reports to track key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Collaborate with R&D, bioinformatics, production software, and manufacturing teams to solve problems and create new products with a data-first mindset.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in a related field, such as computer science, molecular biology, biochemistry, genetics, genomics, or chemistry.
  • Programming experience in SQL and Python.
  • Comfortable operating in cloud-based technologies, such as AWS, Databricks, Snowflake, and dbt.
  • Experience with visualization tools, preferably Tableau.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work well in a team.
  • Attention to detail and ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Critical and strategic thinking to drive logical conclusions, anticipate obstacles, and adopt open-minded approaches to problem-solving.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Background in molecular biology or next-generation sequencing.
  • Experience in bioinformatics and using command line tools.

This is a California-based role, and the base cash compensation is below. In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for bonus, equity, and a generous benefits package. Final compensation amounts are determined by multiple factors, including candidate skill, experience, expertise, and location, and may vary from the amount listed above. Compensation may be different in other locations.

San Francisco Bay Area Pay Range: $100,000-$125,000 USD
