About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Behavioral Health Support Specialist to join our team at Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals with intellectual disabilities, Autism Spectrum Disorder, and dual diagnoses in their daily activities, personal growth, and overall well-being.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist individuals in daily activities, including health and personal management, achieving personal goals, recreation, and daily household living.
  • Maintain a safe and therapeutic treatment environment that meets the physical, emotional, and personal needs of program individuals.
  • Collaborate with the treatment team to develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
  • Provide support and guidance to individuals in achieving their personal goals and objectives.
  • Document and report on individual progress and any changes in behavior or condition.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma/GED with 2 years of related experience OR an Associate's Degree with 1 year of related experience.
  • Valid NY Driver's License.
  • Flexibility, patience, energy, creativity, and a sense of humor.
  • Strong passion for working with and helping children and adults with special needs.
