Cardiac Care Specialist

As a key member of our medical team at Blount Memorial Hospital, the Cardiac Care Specialist will collaborate with physicians in managing the medical needs of patients, adhering to established protocols. This role involves assisting with hospital rounds and consults as directed by the physician, providing monitoring and continuity of care between physician visits, and notifying physicians of new problems in the hospital or office setting. The successful candidate will develop patient care charts, ensuring completeness and accuracy, and document appropriately according to regulatory guidelines and requirements. Additionally, the Cardiac Care Specialist must remain compliant with state laws and scope of practice, and be able to give standard admission orders, copies of which have been approved by the medical staff.
Job Specifications
Education and/or Experience:
Current Tennessee Nurse Practitioner License is required. ACNP certification is preferred, as is previous cardiac experience. Current certification by a national certification organization is mandatory, along with current DEA certification and malpractice insurance policy. CPR and ACLS certifications are also required.
Knowledge:
The ideal candidate will possess knowledge regarding patient care plans and be able to apply this knowledge effectively.
Skills:
Excellent communication skills are essential, as is the ability to be organized, responsible, motivated, and self-directed. The successful candidate must also be able to multitask and handle difficult situations, as well as remain compliant with state laws and scope of practice.
Abilities:
The Cardiac Care Specialist must be able to review laboratory and x-ray reports, report results to the physician, or evaluate the results and take appropriate medical action. This role requires the ability to handle stressful situations and remain focused on delivering high-quality patient care.
