Job Summary: As a Patient Care Specialist at Anderson Hospital, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional care to adult and geriatric populations. Under the guidance of a Registered Nurse, you will perform basic patient care duties, maintain a safe and clean environment, and adhere to high standards of quality and safety.

Responsibilities:

  • Admit, discharge, and transfer patients while completing necessary forms
  • Provide patient hygiene and food/fluid needs
  • Assist with patient mobility and vital signs
  • Maintain a safe environment of care and prevent pressure ulcers
  • Document patient information accurately and timely
  • Provide age-appropriate and population-specific patient care
  • Support patient rights and responsibilities
  • Adhere to standard precautions and infection control standards

Qualifications:

Education and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent, successful completion of an approved Nurse Assistant course with certification by the State of Illinois, and BLS certification. Long-term care, rehabilitation, and/or medical surgical care experience preferred.

Working Conditions: Exposure Category I: Tasks that involve exposure to blood, body fluids, or tissues. Use of appropriate protective measures is required for every employee engaged in Category I tasks.
