What is this role about?
The Senior Portfolio Manager will act on behalf of primarily institutional clients, including foundations, endowments, and non-profit organizations. This position is accountable for executing trades, managing various performance reporting systems, rebalancing portfolios, and other essential tasks necessary for preparing and presenting at client meetings or addressing client inquiries. In collaboration with Client Centric Team members, the role involves assisting in the development of investment policy statements, determining asset allocation, coordinating investment selection and implementation, and monitoring client portfolios to align with client objectives. This position requires in-office presence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Engage with prospective and existing clients regularly to maintain transparent communication regarding their portfolio status, market conditions, and the wealth management strategies in place.
- Oversee ongoing trading and performance reporting, including account rebalancing and all aspects of client portfolio maintenance.
- Leverage extensive knowledge and expertise to provide recommendations for sophisticated and innovative wealth management approaches.
- Collaborate with team members to finalize the investment policy statement.
- Formulate and propose strategies to meet clients' investment goals in partnership with the in-house Research Team and Wealth Management Team.
- Manage all aspects of client portfolios, including executing trades, maintaining investment action plans, monitoring overdrafts, conducting regulatory investment reviews, and documenting account activities.
- Work alongside the in-house Research Team and Wealth Management Team to enhance after-tax portfolio performance through strategic portfolio construction and trade recommendations.
- Conduct performance reviews with select clients and collaborate with the in-house Research Team and Wealth Management Team to analyze market changes and ensure appropriate asset allocations.
- Implement and execute innovative investment strategies and robust risk mitigation techniques in collaboration with the in-house Research Team and Wealth Management Team.
- Become a knowledgeable resource for Institutional Clients regarding portfolio strategies and performance reporting tools.
- Provide analytical support for client-related projects.
- Participate in designated workgroups and projects as assigned.
- Identify and implement process improvements.
Qualifications for Success:
- A Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of seven years of experience in responding to Requests For Proposals (RFPs) related to investment management, managing institutional portfolios, and reporting to foundation, endowment, and non-profit boards, or equivalent education and experience.
- Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation is strongly preferred.
