We are seeking a highly skilled Physician-Gastroenterologist to join our team at the Veterans Affairs, Veterans Health Administration. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the development of our gastroenterology services.
Responsibilities- Perform surgical procedures, including proctoscopy, flexible sigmoidoscopy, diagnostic upper gastrointestinal endoscopy, esophageal dilation, colonoscopy, and therapeutic upper and lower gastrointestinal endoscopy.
- Administer moderate sedation and supervise/teach surgical residents.
- Provide consultation in an outpatient clinic setting and on inpatient wards.
- Participate in committees and other duties as assigned by the Chief of Surgery or Chief of Staff.
- Must be a U.S. citizen or be eligible for citizenship.
- Must have a degree of Doctor of Medicine or an equivalent degree from an accredited institution.
- Must have a current, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia.
- Must have completed residency training in an accredited core specialty training program leading to eligibility for board certification.
- Must be proficient in written and spoken English.
- Board certification in gastroenterology or a related field.
Friday, 7:30 A.M. - 4:00 P.M.; however, subject to change, depending on the needs of the service/medical center. On-call responsibilities as required.
Benefits- Competitive salary and annual performance bonus.
- Paid time off, including 26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, and 11 paid Federal holidays per year.
- Traditional federal pension and federal 401K with up to 5% in contributions by VA.
- Free liability protection with tail coverage provided.
- No Physician Employment Contract and no significant restriction on moonlighting.
