Job Title: Youth Engagement Coordinator
Department: Community Outreach and Fan Engagement
Reports To: Senior Manager of Community Outreach and Fan Engagement

Status: Exempt

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the planning and execution of all elements related to the Youth Hockey Engagement Program, including the development of annual packages and marketing strategies, member retention initiatives, and the creation of engaging newsletters.
  • Design and implement monthly events for youth participants, focusing on interactive experiences and activities for families.
  • Manage the logistics of membership package orders and maintain an organized inventory of program materials.
  • Collaborate with other community outreach staff to enhance program visibility and engagement through events.
  • Develop and lead street hockey initiatives, including leagues and clinics, to promote participation in the greater community.
  • Coordinate team signing events, ensuring effective inventory management and distribution.
  • Assist in the planning and execution of special events, including community celebrations.
  • Formulate and implement policies and procedures to enhance event planning and community engagement efforts.
  • Communicate promptly with participants regarding inquiries, feedback, and concerns, providing assistance as needed.
  • Support the achievement of registration goals for community programs through innovative and dedicated strategies.
  • Manage and execute educational programs aimed at promoting youth engagement in sports.
  • Identify and pursue new opportunities for grassroots development to align with departmental goals.
  • Contribute to the growth of community relations and partnerships.
  • Work collaboratively with various departments to increase awareness of youth programs.
  • Demonstrate a passion for hockey and a commitment to cultivating new fans of the sport.
  • Organize and run summer reading initiatives in collaboration with local educational institutions.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Senior Manager of Community Outreach and Fan Engagement.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Sports Management, Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • At least two years of experience in a professional sports environment or youth-focused organization.
  • Proven ability to creatively design, coordinate, and assess youth programs.
  • Experience working with children and young adults in a professional capacity; friendly demeanor with a passion for promoting sports participation.
  • Current certifications in relevant areas, such as youth sports management.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; strong organizational abilities and initiative.
  • Effective time management skills with the capacity to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Customer service-oriented with experience managing various projects under tight deadlines.
  • Proactive and detail-oriented planner with a creative approach.
  • Flexibility to work outside of standard business hours, including evenings and weekends.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Previous experience in hockey is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Successful candidates will undergo a background check as part of the hiring process.
  • Valid driver's license and a clean driving record are required.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to lift up to fifty pounds.
  • Capable of working under pressure and meeting tight deadlines.
  • Physical activities include sitting, walking, standing, bending, and lifting.
  • Ability to work in varying environmental conditions.
