Key Responsibilities:
- Investigator Duties:
- Collaborate regularly with ACE attorneys and designated agency personnel to initiate fraud investigations.
- Conduct various ancillary investigative services in direct support of assigned fraud cases.
- Investigation:
- Leverage electronic databases, including public records and government-maintained databases, to identify relevant documents, witnesses, and physical evidence.
- Draft comprehensive reports detailing investigation progress for AUSAs and supervisory attorneys, including significant findings, analyses, and recommendations.
- Examine financial records, including ledgers, payrolls, and billing statements, pertinent to the investigations.
- Perform in-depth analyses of extensive hard-copy and electronic data to develop investigative leads.
- Gather and evaluate facts, including witness statements and scientific data, to advance investigative goals.
- Develop and analyze evidence from primary and secondary sources to clarify patterns of operations and legal issues.
- Assist ACE AUSAs in conducting interviews, depositions, and sworn witness examinations.
- Support the preparation and service of subpoenas for documentary materials and witness testimony.
- Understand applicable federal, state, and local laws to guide investigations effectively.
- Determine optimal methods for planning and conducting investigations while identifying necessary resources.
- Perform additional related duties as assigned.
- Participate in meetings and training sessions as required.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred. Relevant experience may substitute for advanced degree requirements.
- Formal training and certification in a specific investigative field.
- Over 10 years of experience in Federal Law Enforcement.
- Proven experience in complex Criminal, Civil, or National Security investigations.
- Significant experience testifying in court.
- Foreign language skills are advantageous.
- Demonstrated liaison and coordination abilities.
- Proficient in MS Office Suite and other relevant databases.
- Experience with document review platforms and claims data analysis is a plus.
- Ability to comprehend a variety of legal and non-legal documents.
- Strong independent thinking and investigative strategy development skills.
- Excellent communication skills and professionalism in interactions.
- Ability to meet deadlines and work collaboratively.
- Skill in courteous and tactful engagement with individuals.
- Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.
