Springfield Hospital seeks a skilled Nurse to join our Inpatient Care Unit as a Premium Per Diem (Nights) RN. This is an excellent opportunity for nurses who value flexibility and variety in their work.

About the Role

This per diem position offers the chance to provide high-quality patient care while working a flexible schedule. You will be responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care on a designated shift. Your expertise will be essential in promoting compassionate, efficient, cost-effective, and quality patient care.

Responsibilities
  • Communicate effectively with patients, team members, and management using verbal and written skills.
  • Promote patient-centered care by incorporating teaching principles and demonstrating competence in health promotion and disease prevention.
  • Demonstrate leadership skills and use critical thinking to make informed decisions.
  • Incorporate assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation into your nursing process.
  • Floating to other departments may be required when census is low.

This position requires a minimum of 36 hours a week, including some weekends. Floating to other departments when there is low census may be required.

Requirements
  • Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited school of nursing.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited school of nursing (preferred).
  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Vermont or active Compact Multi-State RN license in good standing.
  • One year of basic medical-surgical nursing experience (preferred).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers within three months of hire.
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) within one year of hire.
  • Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) training within one year of hire.
  • Pediatric Emergency Assessment, Recognition and Stabilization (PEARS) (preferred).
  • Knowledge of Electronic Medical Record (EMR).
  • Ability to work as a team player, multitask, problem-solve, and demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills.
Estimated Salary Range

$45.00 - $60.00 per hour, depending on experience.
