Job Title: Senior Controls Engineer - Automation

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Controls Engineer to join our Automation Development Team in Brooklyn Park, Minnesota. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing and building automation and robotic equipment that meets the high standards of Tesla's products.

Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop custom automation solutions using PLC, HMI/SCADA, Servo, Robotics, and Machine Vision technologies.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure safety standards are met and electrical schematics are reviewed.
  • Program software for unique projects with various needs, including PLC, HMI/SCADA, Servo, Robotics, and Machine Vision.
  • Test and verify electrical wiring, safety circuits, IO, communications, and debug software to meet project requirements.
  • Work with Assembly personnel and Mechanical Design Engineer to ensure all mechanical setups and alignments are properly completed.
  • Ensure project requirements are fulfilled and equipment performance is excellent before shipping to the factory.
Requirements:
  • 5+ years of experience in custom automation.
  • PLC controls (Siemens primary, Rockwell Automation secondary).
  • Experience working with and troubleshooting electrical systems.
  • Proficiency integrating controls hardware, including sensors, remote IO, servos, VFDs, machine vision, barcode readers, etc.
  • Robots: 6-axis (FANUC primary, Kuka secondary).
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls and Computer Control Systems, Mechatronic Engineering, Automation Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent experience.
