Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Cook to join our team at The GEO Group. As a Cook, you will be responsible for preparing large quantities of food for our facilities. Key Responsibilities- Prepare food according to the menu plan, ensuring high quality and presentation.
- Manage inventory, including ordering and receiving food and supplies.
- Ensure food quality and schedule preparations, maintaining high standards of sanitation and safety.
- Guide and train employees, promoting a positive and productive work environment.
- Train inmate/detainee food service workers and inspect their work, ensuring compliance with company standards.
- High school diploma or equivalent certification required.
- College credits or relevant technical training courses in food service preparation and cooking preferred.
- Minimum two (2) years prior experience in successfully managing and/or quantity food production experience in commercial, military, or institutional setting or an equivalent combination of work experience and training required.
- Must be able to communicate to all personnel the minimum production/service requirements of the job.
- Continuously: Lift or carry up to 10 lbs.; stand.
- Frequently: Lift or carry up to 20 lbs. and push/pull up to 40 lbs.; bend, stoop, reach above shoulder level, walk, and work with machinery and/or in extreme temperatures.
- Occasionally: Lift or carry and push/pull up to 60 lbs. (sometimes more); climb and sit.
Pay: USD $18.21/Hr.
