About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Strategic Agency Relations Leader to join our team at Chevrolet. As a key member of our marketing organization, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining strong relationships with our agency partners, driving business growth, and ensuring the successful execution of our marketing plans.

Key Responsibilities
  • Foster and maintain outstanding agency and partnership relationships to drive business growth and ensure successful marketing plan execution.
  • Guide and provide agency solutions for brand teams, business units, and their marketing needs, ensuring alignment with company goals and objectives.
  • Provide expertise and guidance for global agency relationships, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
  • Lead Chevrolet's agency and partnership compensation models, designing innovative solutions that motivate excellence and drive business results.
  • Develop and implement agency incentive compensation models, ensuring alignment with business objectives and driving desired behaviors.
  • Work with business units to develop and provide ongoing, detailed agency scopes, ensuring clarity and alignment.
  • Lead agency business affairs responsibilities, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Provide technical expertise for new creative production solutions, including AI, CG, and data tech stacks, ensuring seamless integration and effective use.
  • Govern unified asset taxonomy and tagging to manage assets and their measurement, ensuring efficient and effective use.
  • Partner with GM Purchasing to manage agency, partnership, and creative production contracts, ensuring alignment with business objectives and driving desired behaviors.
  • Partner with budget management to align scopes with agency fees, optimizing marketing budget framework and driving business results.
  • Develop and execute Chevrolet's Licensing and Merchandising model, ensuring clear outcomes and driving business growth.
  • Lead strategy and relationships with branded entertainment agencies, ensuring alignment with company goals and objectives.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with multiple internal stakeholders, including brand teams, purchasing, legal, MIT, adjacent businesses, Design, etc.
  • Provide consistent communication with senior leadership and stakeholders, providing updates on status, issues, and opportunities.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, liberal arts, or a related field, with a clear understanding of agency structures and processes.
  • At least 10 years of experience working with or at creative agencies, with a minimum of 5 years of leadership experience managing diverse teams and fostering a collaborative, innovative work environment.
  • Proven ability to work in situations with undefined processes, developing, recommending, and implementing new solutions.
  • Innovative mindset to continually assess industry agency relations best practices and redefine approach.
  • Highly developed and demonstrated interpersonal skills to anticipate and navigate differences of opinions and performance issues.
  • Commercial mindset, understanding and optimizing various agency service models, especially T1/T2/T3, but also adjacent business (e.g., OnStar, Accessories, CCA, etc.).
  • A self-starter with the ability to operate in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and pivot strategies based on enterprise business priorities.
  • Strong analytical skills, capable of working with GM Purchasing, GM Legal, agencies, and business units to write contracts that meet business needs while driving efficiencies.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, working with a sense of purpose and urgency.
  • Excellent communication skills, articulating vision, strategy, and results to a wide range of internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
