Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated X-Ray Technologist to join our team at The Urgent Care. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and ensuring the safe and effective operation of our x-ray equipment.

Responsibilities
  • Take radiographic images of patients' bones, tissues, and organs using x-ray equipment, following providers' orders and adhering to safety protocols.
  • Verify patient identity and review providers' orders before beginning x-ray procedures, ensuring accurate and timely completion of tasks.
  • Explain x-ray procedures to patients, address their questions and concerns, and provide clear instructions for preparation and positioning.
  • Position patients correctly, adjust imaging equipment, and limit radiation exposure by using shields and ensuring high-quality images.
  • Notify management of damaged or malfunctioning equipment, and maintain accurate records of completed x-ray procedures in the EMR.
  • Triage patients, escort them to exam rooms, and perform labs, administer injections, and vaccinations as ordered by providers.
  • Support patients and providers throughout the visit, addressing medical questions and scheduling check-in times as needed.
  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment, including the nurse station, lab, x-ray room, exam tables, and medical equipment, adhering to daily policies and procedures.
  • Stock and restock supplies, ensuring a well-stocked and organized workspace.
Requirements
  • Trained and licensed to perform x-rays in the state of Louisiana without restrictions.
  • Certification through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) registration required.
  • Graduate from an Accredited Radiologic Technologist Program.
  • Minimum 5 years of radiology experience preferred.
  • Experience with EMRs (Electronic Medical Records) and ability to move or lift patients.
  • Pass periodic competency testing and maintain required clinical knowledge, technical skills, training, and credentials through personal and professional development.
  • BLS certified within 90 days of employment.
  • Bilingual in Spanish a plus.
  • Open and flexible availability, including weekend availability, with a minimum of 20-30 hours per week.
