Job Title: Principal Engineer

Longenecker & Associates (L&A) is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Principal Engineer to join our team in Aiken, SC. As a key member of our I&C Design Engineering team, you will contribute to the success of our mission at SRNS.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a skilled Principal Engineer to provide design engineering staff augmentation support to SRNS. The successful candidate will be responsible for engineering analysis, walkdowns, design development, and generation of design output documents.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide design engineering staff augmentation support to SRNS
  • Perform engineering analysis, walkdowns, design development, and generation of design output documents
  • Develop effective, quality solutions to challenges involving unique or controversial problems
  • Apply technical experience in field of specialization or broad-based experience in multiple technical fields to resolve complex problems
  • Provide leadership in determining solutions to complex problems and be recognized as having expertise in a functional area(s) of technical expertise
Requirements:
  • Ph.D. degree in applicable science or engineering discipline and 5+ years' experience
  • MS with 8+ years' experience
  • BS with 10+ years' experience or more
  • BS Degree in Electrical Engineering or current registration as a Professional Engineer in Electrical Engineering
  • Ability to work in a diverse work environment
  • Satisfactory results of a pre-employment screening, which includes a background check and drug screening
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Possession of an active DOE clearance (L or Q) within the past two (2) years
  • Prior SRS Design Engineering experience and working knowledge of SRNS design processes and procedures
  • Proficiency in using MicroStation 2D Computer Aided Drafting and Design (CADD) software
Work Environment:

The successful candidate will be required to work on-site at SRNS in Aiken, SC. The work environment will involve construction sites with uneven surfaces and work in progress, walking for distances of over half a mile, climbing of ladders to access remote areas, dressing out in protective clothing, and environments where a respirator is required.
