The Accounting Supervisor will oversee, coordinate, and engage in the activities of the accounting team, ensuring accurate financial data is obtained, calculated, posted, and recorded for maintaining essential accounting and statistical records. The role encompasses the following key responsibilities:


Key Responsibilities:
  • Compile comprehensive financial reports from subordinate submissions as required by management or regulatory bodies.
  • Communicate and report financial information to headquarters as directed by the Accounting Manager.
  • Supervise daily financial transactions, including accounts payable and receivable, general ledger maintenance, bank reconciliations, and intercompany balance confirmations.
  • Manage overdue accounts and analyze disputes, ensuring timely resolution of discrepancies.
  • Oversee the preparation and auditing of financial materials, ensuring accurate data entry into the accounting system.
  • Identify and rectify inconsistencies, implementing corrective actions as necessary.
  • Recommend enhancements to accounting policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with organizational and governmental standards.
  • Establish work procedures and schedules to optimize workflow efficiency.

Team Leadership:
  • Directly supervise a team of one to three accounting professionals.
  • Conduct performance appraisals, and manage hiring, training, and development of team members.
  • Provide guidance and review the work of accounting staff to ensure high standards of accuracy and compliance.
  • Analyze source data and prepare necessary journal entries and financial reports.
  • Implement process improvements to enhance operational efficiency and reduce reconciliation efforts.
  • Assist in budget development and ensure adherence to budgetary guidelines.
  • Engage with external auditors, providing timely responses to inquiries and requests for information.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field.
  • A minimum of five years of relevant experience in financial and managerial accounting.
  • Fluency in Japanese is a significant advantage.
  • Experience in the automotive industry is preferred.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and a proactive approach to achieving results.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
