Job Summary:

We are looking for a technical expert with a strong background in systems engineering to provide expertise in analyzing system concepts, system designs, and interoperability. The ideal candidate will have experience working with the DoD 5000 Framework and be knowledgeable in DoDAF artifacts.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide systems engineering expertise to analyze system concept, system design, and interoperability.
  • Support requirements/capabilities gap analysis, including providing input to user capability needs and translating user capability needs/requirements into performance specifications.
  • Provide expertise for technical assessments regarding the technical performance and progress of PD Aerostats' systems, potential technologies to support user requirements, and technology alternatives/strategies and trade-offs.
  • Develop documents, including Technology Readiness Levels documentation, engineering change proposals, program baselines, engineering risk assessments, and technical manuals.
  • Manage requirements and communicate system architectures using engineering and architecture tools.
  • Recommend engineering solutions to reduce overall sustainment costs through cost benefit analysis.
Requirements:
  • BA/BS or higher in a related field.
  • 10 or more years of experience as a Systems Engineer, with working knowledge of DoDI 5000 and Defense Acquisition.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and engineering and architecture tools such as Creo, Windchill, Rational, Dynamic Object-Oriented Requirements System, System Architect, MagicDraw, and Visio.
Work Environment:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. This is sedentary work which requires the following physical activities: reaching, sifting, lifting, finger dexterity, grasping, feeling, repetitive motions, talking, hearing, and visual acuity. Occasionally lifts to 20 lbs.

Employees must be able to see and hear, read, and write effectively in English. Requires adaptability, analyzing, assessing, calculating, decision making, dependability, good judgment, reading, memorizing, social skills, speaking, stress control, and writing. Ability to understand, remember, and apply oral and/or written instructions or other information; Ability to apply common sense in performing job. Ability to complete routine forms, use existing form letters, and/or conduct routine oral communication. Ability to make decisions which have significant impact on the immediate work unit.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS: 15% by ground and air transportation.
