Job Title: Quality Engineer II

We are seeking a highly skilled Quality Engineer II to join our team at Astronautics Corporation of America. As a Quality Engineer II, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality of our avionics products and systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Interface with customers to provide reliability performance statistics and analyze internal and external performance data for failure trends.
  • Perform corrective action and preventative analysis activities based on gathered data.
  • Identify and facilitate the corrective action process, including coordinating investigations, implementing activities, and auditing for effectiveness.
  • Analyze data to identify trends in product quality defects and implement measures to prevent recurrence.
  • Coordinate and prepare reliability performance output for review with customers.
  • Review customer requirements for applicability and participate in project launches and program reviews.
  • Review, analyze, and assess life cycle data through periodic sampling.
  • Perform root cause analysis and identify and implement corrective and preventive actions.
  • Coordinate teams to review, create, release, and maintain corrective action and continuous improvement activities.
  • Facilitate and coordinate process improvement for Quality Management Systems and Enterprise Resource Planning.
  • Participate in supplier management activities.
  • Coordinate, collect, and analyze Quality Objective and Key Process/Product Indicator (KPI) metrics for new product and field returns.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum five years of quality assurance experience, preferably in an avionics manufacturing environment.
  • Understanding of engineering drawings and manufacturing processes.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of staff and management, both internal and external.
  • Capacity to work independently from general supervision.
  • Excellent organization skills with the ability to perform multiple tasks and obtain results working within strict time frames.
  • Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to interpret technical specifications.
Desired Qualifications:
  • Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt.
  • ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE).
  • Knowledge of quality tools to conduct root cause, corrective action, and continuous improvement analysis.
  • Versatility in various quality methodologies such as Statistical Process Control (SPC), Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, and others.
