Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Architectural Designer II to join our team at Clark Nexsen. As a key member of our design team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality architectural designs that meet the needs of our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement design concepts for architectural projects, including investigation, evaluation, and recommendation of design solutions.
  • Provide professional architectural consultation in the planning, design, and coordination of large complex projects.
  • Apply advanced architectural concepts and designs to deliver innovative and sustainable solutions.
  • Collaborate with project teams during design phases, including programming, concept development, schematic design, design development, and construction documentation.
  • Develop design sketches, renderings, models, graphics, presentation materials, analysis, and construction drawings and schedules.
  • Participate in the construction administration of projects, including jobsite visits, review of submittals, and responding to contractor questions.
  • Communicate and engage with a wide variety of stakeholders, including clients, owners, users, team members, consultants, contractors, and regulatory agencies.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree from an NAAB accredited Architecture program.
  • 6+ years of professional experience in an architectural practice or related field.
  • Prior experience in model building, graphic, drawing, and presentation capabilities.
  • Exposure to environmental analysis applications, such as Climate Studio, Sefaira, Insight360, and Lady Bug/Honeybee.
  • Commitment to sustainable design principles and interest in achieving accreditation in LEED AP, WELL AP, and/or Green Globes.
Additional Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Advanced level knowledge of design, modeling, and graphic software, including Revit, Rhino, Enscape, and Adobe Creative Cloud.
  • Advanced level understanding of appropriateness of building information modeling for various project types.
  • Advanced level understanding of architectural drafting, detail, and documentation standards.
  • Intermediate level understanding of architectural specifications and their relationship to construction documents.
  • Proficient understanding of basic codes, sustainability requirements, and their implementation.
  • Intermediate level understanding of building programming.
Work Environment

The work is sedentary and often performed in an office setting. Work area is lighted, heated, and ventilated. This position may require extended periods of standing, sitting, as well as some repetitive movements, bending, and lifting of minimal weight. Workplace Flexibility

We have selected two common days in the office to nurture collaboration and innovation and to support learning and growth through engagement with colleagues. We are asking everyone to be present on Mondays and Thursdays, with a required third day that will provide additional flexibility and be set established between you and your supervisor (with consideration given to your project team members and clients).
