Job Summary

Care Transit is seeking a highly skilled Dispatch Customer Service Representative to join our team. As a key member of our dispatch department, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our student transportation services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee daily student transportation operations, ensuring driver readiness and effective communication with drivers and school/parents.

  • Manage a high volume of incoming calls, communicating schedule changes and route adjustments to internal teams and drivers.

  • Utilize Microsoft office programs and routing software tools to optimize routes and minimize travel time.

  • Maintain accurate records and documentation of all customer interactions.

  • Provide exceptional customer service over the phone and in person, resolving issues and concerns in a professional and timely manner.

Requirements
  • Prior dispatching/routing experience required.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

  • Ability to master and use transit-related software programs.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and Google Docs.

  • Ability to type 35 WPM.

  • Proven ability to work effectively under competing priorities with little or no supervision.

  • Must demonstrate ability to remain courteous and professional while managing a high volume of calls.

  • Possess strong prioritization, time management, and organizational skills.

Working Conditions

This is a full-time position, Monday through Friday, with a split shift to include 6 am to 10 am and 2 pm to 6 pm. The starting wage is $18.50 per hour, DOE.
