This role involves performing essential laboratory and research tasks under the guidance of experienced laboratory staff. The focus of our research is on T cell mediated autoimmune diabetes (Type 1 Diabetes).
Key Responsibilities
The Laboratory Support Technician will be responsible for:
1. **Maintaining Laboratory Environment**: Ensure the laboratory is organized and well-maintained.
2. **Mouse Colony Management**: Oversee the maintenance, breeding, and genotyping of experimental mice.
3. **Supply Management**: Order and manage laboratory supplies and equipment.
4. **Data Management**: Accurately enter data into the research database.
5. **Research Assistance**: Support laboratory research experiments and assist in data collection, compilation, and analysis.
This position requires adherence to established laboratory protocols and procedures, with close supervision from senior personnel. Work will be regularly reviewed for accuracy and compliance with research standards.
Work Environment
The role is primarily conducted in a laboratory setting, with frequent data entry and exposure to laboratory animals.
Qualifications
This is an entry-level position with on-the-job training provided. Candidates should possess:
- The ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
- Strong record-keeping skills.
