Position Overview:
The Beverage Service Specialist plays a crucial role in delivering exceptional beverage service, encompassing both alcoholic and non-alcoholic options. This position requires a friendly demeanor, professionalism, and the ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. Consistent attendance and availability for scheduled events are essential.

Compensation:
This role offers an hourly wage of $30.00.

Part-Time Benefits:
Eligible part-time employees can access a 401(k) savings plan with matching contributions. Additionally, OVG provides part-time, seasonal, and internship staff with one hour of paid leave for every 30 hours worked, accumulating up to 48 hours annually.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Exhibit outstanding guest service and maintain professional interactions with colleagues.
  • Adhere to bar pre-shift notes and menus to ensure consistent service.
  • Serve beverages in compliance with all relevant state and federal regulations.
  • Possess knowledge of various beer, wine, and spirit selections, with the ability to upsell effectively.
  • Ensure responsible drink pouring according to company standards.
  • Verify guest identification to confirm legal drinking age.
  • Communicate necessary cut-off times to guests as required.
  • Address customer requests and concerns promptly.
  • Manage intoxicated guest situations with professionalism, involving management or security when necessary.
  • Request product replenishment as needed.
  • Handle cash transactions accurately and maintain responsibility for the bar's cash bank.
  • Keep the work area clean and sanitary, ensuring all bar equipment is well-maintained.

Additional Duties:
Assist with the setup and breakdown of bar equipment and help organize inventory as needed.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of two years of bartending experience.
  • Proficient cash handling skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced setting.
  • Self-motivated while being a team player.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication abilities.
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
  • Bartending school certification is preferred.

Physical Requirements:
This position involves extensive standing and walking, with routine activities requiring reaching, sitting, walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling. The employee must be able to lift up to 50 pounds regularly. Vision requirements include the ability to adjust focus, peripheral vision, and close vision.
