Radiology Imaging Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Radiology Technologist to join our team at UPMC Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh, a Top 10 National Pediatric Hospital. As a Radiology Technologist, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our Diagnostic Radiology team.
Responsibilities:
- Accurately identify patients using two identifiers and follow universal protocol when performing procedures.
- Review patient history and assess physician orders, applying specific departmental protocols for optimal results.
- Document patient history in electronic records as required.
- Administer medications and contrast agents per physician orders and department policy.
- Ensure all exams are properly coded, tracked, and charged through the RIS system.
- Perform diagnostic radiography procedures utilizing established protocols without requiring constant supervision.
- Operate complex imaging equipment to acquire, analyze, and document image data.
- Interact with patients and colleagues in a caring and respectful manner.
- Work collaboratively with the team to expedite patient care efficiently.
- Adjust protocols and apply prescribed ionizing radiation appropriately for diagnostic radiography purposes.
Requirements:
- Graduate of an ARRT-approved school of Radiologic Technology or verification from ARRT-approved school of completion of program and scheduled graduation date.
- ARRT Registry eligible as a Radiologic Technologist. Must obtain radiography registry within 12 months of hire date.
- CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire.
- Act 31 Child Abuse Reporting with renewal.
- Act 33 with renewal.
- Act 34 with renewal.
- Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal.
