Job Summary:

This Radiology Imaging Specialist role performs prescribed radiographic imaging procedures at a technical level not requiring constant supervision. The ideal candidate will competently perform a variety of technical procedures that require independent judgment and initiative.

Key Responsibilities:
Positions patients and performs imaging procedures
Analyzes results and identifies issues with the quality of imaging results
Takes appropriate action to resolve image quality issues, including repositioning patients and repeating procedures
Enters, transmits, and reports scan results
Reviews patient history and physician's orders
Educates patients regarding procedures, equipment, and exams to ensure patient understanding and cooperation
Prepares and administers contrast media and/or medications within scope of practice
Monitors patient condition continually and reports/responds to changes in status as appropriate
Prepares equipment and supplies
Selects appropriate exposure factors and imaging parameters
Implements safety standards and performs quality control procedures on equipment
Troubleshoots, resolves, and/or reports equipment malfunctions as necessary

Requirements:
Associate's Degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school
Six months to one year related experience and/or training
American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) (R) Radiography certification required within 12 months of hire
CPR certification

Preferred Qualifications:
Prior radiology experience
