Position Overview:
The University of Tennessee Health Science Center is inviting applications for a full-time faculty role within the Department of Pediatrics, specifically in the Pediatric Rheumatology Division. This is an open-rank position, allowing for a range of academic titles based on the candidate's qualifications and experience.

Key Responsibilities:
The selected candidate will be responsible for:

  • Leading the Pediatric Rheumatology Division.
  • Fostering the professional growth of Rheumatology faculty members.
  • Providing high-quality clinical care in the field of Rheumatology.
  • Supervising and mentoring residents and medical students.

Essential Qualifications:
Applicants must possess an M.D., M.D./Ph.D., or an equivalent medical degree, along with board certification or eligibility in Pediatric Rheumatology.

Preferred Qualifications:
While not mandatory, candidates with board certification in Pediatric Rheumatology are encouraged to apply. Expertise in leadership roles that involve the development of clinical and research teams, as well as mentoring both established and emerging researchers, is highly valued.

Research Opportunities:
Responsibilities may also encompass research or scholarly activities, which could include:

  • Clinical, translational, or basic research.
  • Quality improvement initiatives, health services research, and outcomes analysis.
  • Epidemiological studies and implementation science.
  • Medical informatics.
