Position Overview:
The University of Tennessee Health Science Center is inviting applications for a full-time, open-rank academic faculty position within the Department of Pediatrics, specifically in the Division of Rheumatology.
Role Responsibilities:
This role encompasses various responsibilities, including:
- Leading the Division of Rheumatology.
- Facilitating the professional development of Rheumatology faculty.
- Engaging in clinical practice and providing high-quality patient care.
- Supervising residents and medical students.
Basic Qualifications:
Candidates must possess an M.D., M.D./Ph.D., or an equivalent degree, along with board certification or eligibility in Pediatric Rheumatology.
Departmental Preferences:
Preferred qualifications include board certification or eligibility in Pediatric Rheumatology. Expertise in leadership roles focused on developing clinical and research teams, as well as mentoring both established and junior researchers and trainees, is advantageous but not mandatory.
Research Responsibilities:
Applicants with experience in clinical, translational, or basic research are encouraged to apply. Responsibilities may also include:
- Engagement in quality improvement, health services, and outcomes research.
- Contributions to epidemiology, implementation, and dissemination research.
- Participation in medical informatics initiatives.
We welcome established applicants who have a robust clinical, translational, or basic research program and are interested in expanding their research efforts while fostering the development of a larger program that includes investigators in both rheumatic and non-rheumatic pediatric medicine.
