Environmental Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Environmental Scientist to join our team in one of our office locations across Texas in San Antonio, Austin, Dallas, Conroe, or Houston. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting and contributing to a successful Environmental Compliance Service Line through the execution of primarily air permitting and reporting project tasks under the supervision or guidance of a Project Manager. Key responsibilities include:
Interpreting technical process information and preparing air-related deliverables for clients.
Preparing or assisting with the preparation of air registrations, permits, and other submittals required by federal, state, or local agencies.
Participating in or leading environmental audits.
Conducting ambient air monitoring.
Coordinating activities of subcontractors (e.g., stack testing) on assigned projects.
Preparing air emissions inventories.
Evaluating complex manufacturing and chemical processes to identify and inventory emission sources.
Researching and interpreting State, Federal, and local regulations for the purpose of determining applicability.
Performing or assisting with the performance of air dispersion modeling using Screen or AERMOD platforms.
Interacting with clients as necessary during the performance of work tasks.
The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's degree or higher in environmental science/engineering, chemistry, geology, biology, or a related field, with 0-2 years of applicable experience. A valid Texas driver's license and experience with Microsoft Office Suite are also required. The successful candidate will be able to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner, work in a team environment, and effectively read and interpret information. Additionally, they will be able to present numerical data in a resourceful manner and skillfully gather and analyze information. Proven experience working on multiple projects, producing accurate information while meeting deadlines, is also essential. The ability to work well with all levels of people within the organization and outside of the company is also required. The physical demands of this position include occasional standing, sitting, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling, and driving a vehicle short and/or long distances. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Work environment regularly requires exposure to outdoor weather conditions. This position may require protracted or irregular hours, and flexibility to work irregular hours is necessary due to client needs.
