Aircraft Refinishing Specialist

  • Job Summary:
  • The Aircraft Refinishing Specialist will be responsible for providing refinishing services for aircraft and components under the supervision of the Maintenance Supervisor. Responsibilities include performing refinishing services within the estimated time and in compliance with applicable FAA and customer work instructions.
  • Responsibilities:
  • Prepare aircraft for stripping and painting.
  • Mix and apply paints in various quantities.
  • Set up and operate various types of paint-spraying equipment.
  • Follow all applicable specifications.
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
  • Complete work within estimated hours.
  • Adhere to all safety procedures and specifications.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental guidelines.
  • Complete all necessary paperwork.
  • Operate ground support equipment safely and as required.
  • Work independently and effectively with team members.
  • Secondary Duties:
  • Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor.
  • Assume the role of Aircraft Refinishing Lead when necessary and qualified.
  • Qualifications, Experience & Requirements:
  • MINIMUM:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Three (3) or more years of experience as an aircraft painter or five (5) or more years in an industrial automotive paint environment.
  • Must have the tools required by the Company Tool List.
  • Must be proficient in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding English.
  • PREFERRED:
  • FAA Airframe and Powerplant or FAA Airframe certificate.
  • Physical Requirements and Work Environment:
  • Certain physical tests may be required, including the ability to wear safety equipment.
  • Ability to handle hazardous materials safely.
