About the Position

As an Airfield Maintenance Specialist III, you will be responsible for ensuring the day-to-day safe, secure, and efficient operations of our airports. This pivotal role involves maintaining landing strips, airfield facilities, and perimeters, as well as operating and maintaining trucks and heavy equipment. As a lead worker, you will oversee a team of maintenance specialists, coordinating work and completion of assigned projects with specialized airport divisions. You will also be responsible for training co-workers on the safe and proper use of all construction, snow removal, and other miscellaneous equipment used to perform all required maintenance needs.

This is a skilled professional work that requires a high level of situational awareness as it covers a broad range of experience and responsibilities involving the airfield, aircraft operating areas, airport operations, Federal Aviation Administration rules and regulations, general aviation operations, and a high level of problem-solving and customer service skills.

Position Overview

Airfield Maintenance Specialist III is a full-time position that requires a valid Commercial Driver's License and current DOT medical card. The successful candidate will have five years' experience in the operation of heavy/light equipment and a thorough understanding of the laws governing the operation of motor vehicles.

The ideal candidate will have a strong knowledge of all airfield and landside operations as they relate to general maintenance functions and snow/ice removal requirements. They will also have a thorough knowledge of all safety rules, hazards, and applications of accident prevention measures associated with the operation of heavy/light equipment.

The successful candidate will be able to work shifts that may include days, afternoons, graveyards, weekends, and holidays. They will also be required to maintain current confined space, temporary traffic control, flagger, and forklift certifications given at the Airport.
