Job Summary

The Forest at Duke is seeking a skilled Dining Care Partner to join our team. As a key member of our care team, you will provide holistic, resident-centered care that promotes autonomy, potential, and choice. Your primary responsibility will be to assist residents with dietary functions, including menu choice, meal delivery, and sanitation in the health center.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work with residents to select menu options and provide information to the Dining Leader for food ordering.
  • Prepare food according to the Daily Worksheet for Dining.
  • Assist residents during meals and clear tables, wash dishes, and clean according to the kitchen cleaning schedule.
  • Review refrigerator contents to ensure proper storage and labeling, and discard expired items.
  • Restock supplies in kitchens and pantries according to pre-determined par levels.
  • Attend house menu planning meetings.
  • Participate in cooking, housekeeping, activities, and basic resident care in partnership with the house care team.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Prior experience in a healthcare setting preferred.
  • Must be able to understand and communicate orally in English.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must complete North Carolina Food Handler Class within the first 90 days of employment.
