Job Description

**Job Summary:**

TerranearPMC, LLC is seeking experienced professionals to support our RCRA environmental remediation and compliance program work in Los Alamos, New Mexico. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in water treatment plant operations and maintenance, as well as experience with field instrumentation and environmental remediation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the operation of Chromium and RDX groundwater remediation field activities.
  • Operate small water treatment systems via computer-based SCADA programs.
  • Support the collection and transport of water samples.
  • Monitor operating conditions, meters, and gauges.
  • Assist in minor maintenance on machinery and equipment.
  • Keep and maintain records.
  • Support facility access, permits, and notifications.
  • Provide interface with the Facility Operations Director to avoid conflicts with other site activities.
  • Coordinate with site personnel and subcontractors conducting remediation activities.
  • Coordinate with the technical lead as required.
  • Team with counterparts in groundwater monitoring and well drilling/maintenance areas to ensure coordination and elimination of potential technical conflicts.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED; at least 2 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
  • A combination of education and relevant experience that demonstrate adequate knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the position's duties and responsibilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to comprehend technical instruction and training.
  • The career level of the position will be determined by the years of relevant experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities; after a candidate has been chosen.
  • Basic understanding of principles, concepts, and techniques in the field of water treatment operations, including electrical, piping, mechanical repair, composting and related processes.
  • Valid U.S. Driver's License.
  • Due to the nature of work, U.S. Citizenship is required.
  • Good written and oral communication skills.

Desired Experience/Qualifications:

  • Certification/Licensure: Possession of a New Mexico Environment Division (NMED) Water Systems Operator Certificate.
  • Possession of a technical diploma or associate degree in engineering, science, or related technical discipline, or equivalent.

Identified Training, Employment & Physical Requirements:

  • CPR and Basic First Aid Certificate; must maintain certification status. TerranearPMC, LLC will assist in obtaining this certification/training upon employment.
  • OSHA 40-hr HAZWOPER course completion, including annual 8-hr refresher preferred, but not essential. TerranearPMC, LLC will assist in obtaining this certification/training upon employment.
  • Other training TerranearPMC, LLC will provide includes annual site-specific and position-specific safety training.
  • Must pass a pre-employment criminal background check.
  • Successful candidate must submit to post-offer, pre-employment physical examination and medical history check.
  • Individuals must pass a pre-employment drug screen and accept all company policies.
  • This position will require a physical fit-for-duty screen.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate.
  • Physical demand requirements are in excess of those for sedentary work.
  • The employee exerts up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.

Compensation:

  • This is a position with negotiable annual salary terms within budgetary restraints.
